About

I’m a visual storyteller with an arsenal of ways to harness my eye for design. My 10+ years of experience in graphic design, video production, photography, art, and costuming make me a multi-faceted creative force who always thinks outside the box. No matter what form my work takes, I love to use my passion for storytelling to help others and share their voices with the world.

Combining the following skill sets in multimedia projects makes me a truly unlimited storyteller:

Graphic Design | I have been designing logos, flyers, advertisements, business cards, trade show collateral, art for books, and more since 2007. I started freelancing while studying at UNC-Chapel Hill and still take commissions. I have also developed marketing materials, infographics, and workflow diagrams during my 8-year career with Scriptorium Publishing.

Video Production | At Scriptorium, I manage the LearningDITA project and have produced interactive e-learning courses with videos for the site. With my documentary short film, Coping without a Cure and accompanying photo story, I raised awareness for Lou Gehrig’s Disease—and more than $10,000 for the ALS Association’s North Carolina chapter.

Photography | I take editing commissions from local portrait photographers for basic lighting and color correction, retouching skin blemishes, and cleaning up backgrounds. I am also a skilled photographer and photo story writer as a result of my education in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Art | I have been drawing my entire life and have developed a skill set that includes traditional pencil drawings, digital paintings, and comics. I drew the duck mascot for Scriptorium’s LearningDITA site and have also contributed my art skills to conference presentations. I drew a long-form webcomic from 2013-2018 and continue to draw short-form comics and portraits, both in my spare time and by commission.

Costuming | I have been building costumes since 2013 and specialize in theatrical and special effects makeup, wigs, and prosthetics. Constructing costumes allows me to take my design skills beyond the page and screen and into the realm of 3-D creation. I have worked with a variety of materials, including fabric, foam, plastic, paint, and LED lights. I am an active member of CausePlay Carolinas, a local costuming charity group, and I volunteer in character at fundraisers, hospital visits, and other events that benefit underprivileged children.

I am always looking for a new story to tell. Please reach out if you’d like me to help tell yours.
